Default Rancher shifting problem....please help

I have an 06 rancher 350 4x4 manual shift and I'm have a problem when down shifting. It feels like after you push the shifter down and then when you let it up it jerks as if I just downshifted in too low of a gear. I could be going 40mph in 5th gear and slow down to like 20mph then shift into 4th and it still feels like I downshifted to far. Is it possible that maybe my clutch pack is sticking together and not allowing for that smooth transition into gears.

I was reading another post about lifting up on the shifter and holding it up while holding the brake and giving it gas in order to free up the fiber disc and the metal disc.

If anyone knows about this please tell me what I should do.

If it is still on warranty, make it the dealers problem!

Try the clutch adjustment procedure, which I think is outlined in the owners manual.

Ya it's not under warranty. I'll try to adjust it but it only has about 15 hours on it

At 15 hours, it should be broken in pretty well. You may just have an unusually sticky clutch pack????

i have a trick for you,

take the emergency shifter from the box, put the bike in nuetral, then pull and hold the lever up in first gear, then rev the motor, it should rev freely, if it doesn't keep adding throttle till it does rev freely

hey guys, I went out today and started it and put it in gear. I noticed when holding the shifter up it wanted to take off. I held the brakes and revved it and the clutch broke free. works perfectly now. may still need to adjust the clutch a little but it shifts good now.

I have the same problem with my 06 Rancher 4X4 manual, after reading this post I did the holding up the shifter and reving.
It finally broke loose, it still has the problem when I first startup but breaks loose easier.
Will it get to where I won't have to do that or is the clutch pack to tight? I have done the adjusting of the clutch like the manual says.

After the clutch adjustment it should get better after each ride , it's just not broken in good yet but should get better after about 1000 to 1500 miles ! ................williebee
