valve noise
#1
I have a 05 rancher es. what i am needing to know is how much valve noise is acceptable. the valves seem to be louder than any of my friends ranchers. is this normal or do they need some adjustment made. it runs fine. no smoke or any other problem.

Well you're suppose to check your clearance every 600 miles or so. I'd start there especially since yours is louder than your friends.
There is probably no damage being done but better safe than sorry. If your clearance is a bit loose you should see a performance gain in correcting it. If your clearance is correct I wouldn't worry about the noise. My father in law has a 1986 four trax that has been beat to death for 20 years, it's allways been noisey but it still runs like a champ!!
