Our Rancher has over 750 miles on it. We have adjusted the rear brake once. The front brake has not been adjusted yet. I am impressed!

How are the brakes doing on your Rancher?

No Rancher, but the older style 300 Fourtrax. Got about 650 hours on it, and adjusted the front brakes once, and the rear twice that I can remember. Heck, the thing is 5 years old already! I only adjust the clutch about every 200 to 250 hours, and it doesn't really need it yet. Sorry I don't have an odometer, just an hourmeter.

I had to adjust my brakes once already. But I honestly think it was do to improper dealer setup. I only have about 30 hours on it. With the excellent traction and engine braking you get with the standard tranny, my brakes don't get used all that often.

My dealer adjusted my front brakes at 700 miles when I was in for service, and in my opinion they are a bit too touchy now. The rear seem fine.

Mostly, I'll try to use the engine for braking while riding.

The valve adjustment that was done was worth it .. thing runs like a scalded dog <again>.
