Took my 250r out on the trails today, man is that thing fast. Most poeple say 2 strokes are not good trail quads but they are if you know how to handle them. It is awsome at jumps, drifting, and doing major burn outs. here are some before pic's

I definitly agree with you with the part about the 2-stokes on the trails. The only people that dog 2 strokes in the woods are people that... A. Cant handle them in the woods or B. Want to just repeat that someone else said they arnt good in the woods. I hate how in the yammi forum everyone that rides trails is supposed to have a raptor. I have a shee and its amazing on the trails.....

Mine is the best quad I've ever ridden on the trails. When I first got it , the suspension felt stiff. So i figured on it's first trip to Chadwick, I would probably ride it once and ride my Scrambler the rest of trip. But it handled really well, and I didn't have to shift as much as I thought I would. Have Fun

Yea once you find a good power band its all good, the only thing I'm afraid of is that it will require alot of work (top end) but over all it's a very fun machine, can't wait to get it in the snow

2 strokes in general aren't bad trail bikes, it is the pipey hard hitting ones that are a handful. Right after I got back into quads in '03, I went riding with my bro. He got tired and wanted to trade quads for a while. After about 10 minutes on his Banshee I made him give me my trusty LT250R back. That Yamaha was a major handful!! Congrats on the R though, they are fun quads to ride.

Rebuilding the topend on a two stroke is cake. it can be done in a few hours. Unless it needs to bored. Then you will have to send the cylinder out.

Yea I have heard that two strokes are a little easier to work on than 4 stokes, and from what I've looked at so far the parts are cheaper too.
