Are the R worth what they are selling? Depends on the mods and shape it is in. Not to mention how bad you want one.
I purchased mine for $2000 and it needed some work. I decided to complete tear the quad down and rebuild it. Replacing every bearing and any other part I felt like. I have yet to come up with an exact figure, but I think I have spent about 4 grand after the intial purchase.
As for jumping, I came from a Banshee, so the R is light years ahead of the Banshee in jumping. Everyone that has tried the R says it flies real nice. I would have to agree. But is it right for you? That is your decision. For the best jumping 2 stroke right now, get the R. If you wnat something newer, you have 3 choices (in my humble opinion) 400ex, raptor or DS. But then again, once you get huge air, you are looking at replacing things with aftermarket. Shocs for sure, but possibly the frame as well.
I love my R and will not trade it for the world.

YES!!!! It is so much worth it! Once you get it it won't take you any time to do all that stuff you can do on your blaster. As for huevosIII, those machine are close to being $12,000 machines. But no other machine will do that. In a couple of years you will have about$1,500 up you can race it in the modified class, and boom. You will have more after market comonents than you can name. Have fun. Don't let anyone tell you other wise. The is, and will always be the best.

I just traded a 300ex for a 86 250r The local Honda shop had it for $1800 .I traded a 93 300ex even for it. It is in excellent condition.I also had a Blaster, it was nice for a small bouncy 4wheeler.The 250r is better suspended and the power is hard to match even in slightly modified form. If you like 2 stroke power, get the 250r,if you like 4 stroke power better, get a 400ex.
