I am thinking about doing mods to my bike but not sure what to do first i was thinking getting graphics kit, then air filter and jetting and eventually a pipe. But for the pipe I am not sure if just a slip on or the entire exhaust kit. Any other suggestions?

I am in about the same place as you right now and have heard that the honda hrc kit is amazing for power gains and really wakes the bike up...I am prob going to either get the lrd or sparks full system,K&N, and jetting. Then tires, suspension, etc. I am gonna go with the full system not the slip on I figure if I am going to spend my money why not just spend it towards the whole thing for better power gains and better looks.

Forget all the bold graphics and air filter stuff and just get a Hot cam stage II, full exhaust, and take off your air lid. You will fall in love with the added power. Yet me know if you have any questions on jetting and I can help also.

I put on the LRD (full) on my friend's 06 450er. Man what a difference over stock. What a nice looking and well constructed pipe.

Something else to consider is whether you want to have a heat shield or not. Not all aftermarket full exhaust have a heat shield for the header. If you wear over the boot pants they will get melted for sure.

IMO..The sparks system is the best for a 450r...I think they have the best sound out of all the 450r pipes..And with a K&N air filter and a sparks pipes she will wake up...The pipe runs about $450.00

Just forget the HRC Kit... the air lid, and exhaust are useless... Get an aftermarket exhaust, jet it, and install the HRC cam, then remove the air lid... that will make you very happy... Aftermarket exhausts are better than the HRC exhaust, also why waiste money on a lid with a hole in it when you can just take the lid off for free... Anyways just my .02 cents.

Your thinking of the 04-05 kit maybe Zettler. The 06-07 kit doesn't come with a lid, you just take it off.

You may not be able to get the HRC cam seperately from the kit. I know that's the way it was a few months back. No sweat though, like I said before, just get a hot cam II.
