Default Buying 06 Rancher in Dallas

Wanting to buy an 06 Rancher ES 4x4 in DFW area. Has anyone bought one recently in the area. If so, can you tell me what you paid and the dealership (only if you recommend them). I was quoted $4654 for the unit (not including TTL, etc). I know they are changing the 2007 model and trying to liquidate the 06's. I also have been looking in the trader magazine and see them cheaper out of state. Any help would be well appreciated. Should I worry about extended warranty or maybe use that as a bargaining tool?

The MSRP is $5299. But the dealer I would use has them for $3833. This is in Tennessee and might not be worth the ride from Texas.

Sounds a bit high for an 06, I'm sure Honda is offering some pretty good kickbacks to dealers on these models, I'd hold out for a better price. Offer him $4,000 OTD or you gonna walk.

Honda had a Rancher promotion the last couple months, and they were selling off 06's around here for $4,000 OTD. They are all sold out now, except for a few ES's (which I would never get)!

I need another 4X4, so I am wondering if I passed up an opportunity at a cheap purchase...........

Last year I picked up a Rincon for $6200, about $1500 below MSRP, came to $6500 OTD.

I had shopped around for a Rancher a couple of years ago, I couldn't get anyone below $4500-4800 OTD up here.

As Reconranger stated, they have been discounting the heck out of the 06's so there might not be much left, still no reason to let a dealer stick it to you, if he wants that much tell him you'll wait for an 07, chances are hes making more on the 06 anyway.

Same person, just a little different log in. I have him down to $4500 OTD and he only has two left. Not many of these units left in DFW. Recon, just curious, why wouldn't you buy an ES?

What is MSRP? You need to negotiate DOWN from there. He's getting a hefty credit from Honda, don't let him trick you into all that freight/set up.

OK, MSRP on an 06 4x4ES is 5299, if you can get for $4500 OTD the go for it. I didn't realize they were going for that much but the 4x4 and ES add to the price. You need to BS him a bit tell him you can get one online shipped to you for about $4500 or you can go out of the area for a similar price, can't hurt to try.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to print off a couple of the ads from southern honda in TN and bring them to him tomorrow. Their price is about $4000 before all the extras. any thoughts on manual vs. ES. I am a 4-wheeler virgin and need any advice before tomorrow.
