Who makes the best cam and how many horses will it give me? I might just put the xr400 cam in but i'm thinking about hardening my rockers and going for a big cam. I hear LRD is a pretty good one. Anyone else know of anything? Also instead of hardening my rockers, can i buy new rockers that are hardened or soemthing? I want to go the cheapest but best way on hardening them.

 

I think you should check out GT Thunder's cam. I talked to them and they said with their cam you wouldn't need your rockers done. Plus you gain two horses with it, there # is (330)674-7122

 

THEY ARE ALL LIES. Rockers and cam will be ruined if they are not hard faced. Megacycle is the ultimate cam place, they have the highest quality and most powerful cams, a cam runs $170 with no core charge and the rockers cost $48 a peice to re-angle ands harden($192) It isn;t cheap but it will last. Most cam places will tell you that their cam doesn't need the rockers but they don't care if it fails in 6 months, which it will. The XR cam is CHEAP!! It only like 112 or something but the power increase isn't that good. It has no decompression gear on it so it would crank over much harder and lead to premature starter failure and possibly stripped teeth on the flywheel, it would stress the battery greatly too. Go with megacycle!
