Default How to add power to a 05 Rancher

How would be the best way to go about adding power to an 05 Rancher? What kind of power gains with what sort of equipment changes could I expect? I don't really want the Quad to be louder than it already is in stock form, if an aftermarket exhaust is recommend (a little louder is OK, but not an obnoxious type of loud). Brands and models of recommended products appreciated.

Have you clipped the spring in the carb? Lots of posts on that mod if you do a search.

Maybe an FMF PowerLine muffler and a UNI air filter. You can also vent the airbox lid with some 1" UNI vents, but only if you aren't going to be in the wet a lot.

No, I didn't/don't know anything about the Carb spring mod. I'll search on that. I've tried searches for exhaust on Ranchers and most are vey dated, and few with any replies. I'll check out the recommended muffler and air filter. Venting the air box probably wouldn't be a big deal since I wouldn't get that deep in water.

Thanks

What sort of power gains would a person expect with those mods? Where would it be most noticable at, bottom, mid, top, entire?

On my Eiger I put a FMH Power line with the quiet core, UNI air filter and had it dyno jetted and wow what a diffrence. It is night and day in the power, you will want the guiet core if you get the FMH to keep it at the 96db. Good luck let us know how it goes.

I put an FMF pipe, moose racing jet kit and a Twin air hi flow filter on my utility and it has done alot for it.I guess I am getting a little more low end and top end as far as climbing hills and going through straight ways.I hope this helps you out.
