two of my friends have predators and i'm looking at a ex400, very clean and well maintained. My question is, will it keep up, and what do you think of the air cooled verses liquid? we do alot of trail riding but also go to the track and jump them. Can this machine take it?

 

The 400ex will keep up with the pred through the trails but in a drag race they will def win...the 400ex is a great quad though and has been around a while and the engine is bulletproof not a bad starting quad

 

I've never riden with a predator (riden only with another 400ex, Warrior and Honda 450rs) but a buddy of mine has one and I should be riding with him someday. I figure once you get a quad that's in the 400's, you can pretty much keep up. The bigger displacement quads will have more power and all that, but if you're going through a lot of corners and stuff, top speed won't really matter. I'm pretty sure a 400ex can keep up to a Predator everywhere except on a drag strip, the Predator will continue to pull away.
