Default 300ex help

I just bought a 02 300 and I love the power . The way it handles is a little soft me,Im 5'9 220lbs. To short for my weight. The 300 was a good price and I would like to put a few bucks into it now and get some experience riding and give to my son in a few years. So my question is can I get some feed back on what I can do and were I can get info on the suspension to handle my weight better,I am riding trails, woods nothing crazy. thanks thumbmasher

If you get a shock wrench you can adjust your stock suspension. Motorsportoutlet.com has
these.

Aftermarket shocks that are custom sprung for your weight. I have had great success for years and on many different quads with Works Performance.

Another issue, a set of radial tires will contribute a lot to this machine. The stock tires on the 300 are kind of marginal, and need to be replaced anyway. I am running the new ITP TracStar radials on my 250's, and am very pleased with the improvement to the ride. These are 6-ply, and have proven to be vitrually indestructible.

it handles a Whole lot better if u extend ur swing arm alittle i done mine 3inches.. it flys Great better than i ever though it would.. also i would upgrade ur suspention.. pipe, airfilter, jet it and u will be happy.. since ur already happy with the stock power.. but the swing arm and extending the bike and suspention is the best thign that i ever done 2 my bike.. U will be able 2 go faster and harder with the great handling... stock the bike is kinda narrow 2 me.. so hope that helps right now my bike is 50in wide and love it! i ride woods also not much i mainly stick 2 tracks but it does just fine in the woods

one thing everone that replied to your post forgot about the 300ex, is that you can do a conversion to 400EX shocks. u can find a conversion kit, and shocks on EBAY. i dont know who makes this conversion, but i do know that being the same height, and close to the same weight @210 that the 400ex shocks are great once you stiffen them up. that is what i would do if i was unhappy with your stock suspension. the kit should keep the front end right where it is now. i dont know of anyone who has done this in my area, but a lot of people do it here on this website. good luck with your 300 ex i have always wanted one.
