Yes, lets keep in mind this is an ATV forum, and no one here is expected to know much about dirtbikes.

First things first, I have yet to race a Z400 so I will keep my thoughts to myself on that one.

There's no way either one of the two quads mentioned would touch a liquid cooled KDX200 in sixth gear, regardless of who's piped or who's not. drag101, is the KDX you are asking about an older air cooled model? The KDX 200 and 220 are 2-stroke enduro bikes that run with other high end woods/desert machines like the infamous Honda XR400R. And many of us here know what quad shares the same motor as the XR400R....the Honda 400ex. The 1991 KDX200 that I owned was capable of highway speeds, just like the XR400R was. HOWEVER, that motor being put in a quad is bound to slow it down, so honda gave it lower gear ratio's to compensate. NOW...due to that simple fact, the Honda 400ex will run out of gear at a lower speed than the XR400R, which would also make it slower than the KDX200. But since BOTH of the ATV's you mentioned have over twice as much rubber on the ground plus a lower first gear than the dirtbike, I'm seeing both the quads taking the lead over the KDX only until maybe about 3rd gear or so. But that's just my take on it, I'd love to see the 400ex spank both of them since I also own one, but I can't see how it would keep up with the dirtbike in a long race.

Darn im dumb, i didnt notice that, of course a 4000ex would whip them 4000ex could whip anything, as long as it has traction.
I wonder how much power that would pump out, probly around 250-300hp

kdx would beat the quads because of power to weight ratio and 2 strokes put out twice as much power per engine CC.
