with the 440, not much more is needed when compared to a 416 or somethign smaller. you will need a new sleeve and you will need to machine your case a little bit so the larger sleever has plenty of room in there. our 416 is actually faster than our 440. the 440 doesn't rev near as high. it has power at low rpms. it runs good, but isn't quite as fast when dragging.

A 440 will be $150 -$200 more than a 416, if you do it yourself. I don't know labor costs. I would go with the 416. You will get get great gain with it and be happy with that amount of power.

Hey dariusld, I was looking at what have done to one of your bikes...you're running a stock bore 11.1 piston, what do you think of it? I'm planning on doing a similar setup with the same cam that you have and I was thinking of going with either a 10.1 piston, or an 11.1 piston, both stock bore.

The walls of my stock bore were perfect, so I just honed and put a high compression piston in. I put the cam in and did a very mild port and polish myself. When I first rode it I thought it was wimpy. But I just wasn't used to where the power was and how it came on. It had a much wider power band. Where the stock 400 fell off the modified one just kept pulling. If I ride stock and modified back to back, there is a huge difference. It doesn't pull as hard, but it revs up really fast.
