Default pipe blueing

At one time or another, someplace on this forum, I read that you could remove the heat blueing from your stainless or chrome head pipes using some type of common product. It has been a couple of years ago. If anyone knows of something that you can use to remove this, please answer and let me know. As I remember, it was a simple and common product but can't remember the particulars. If anyone has this information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks...Dean

I dont think that anything would work to take the color out of the pipe. Thats accually the metal that turns that color. But if something did work it would probably be oven cleaner. It might mess up chrome so try it on a small spot first. Im not resonsable if it messes ur bike up either, im just going by memory.

When we had street bikes, my buddy tried out a simular product and it didn't work worth a crap. IMO there isn't much you can do to keep metal from changing when it goes through heat cycles, especially from a product on the shelf.

If my pipe on my CR250 gets rusted, I will hit it with some WD40 and steel wool, that seems to clean it up. For rust I mean.
