Hey, I'm new to the forums and have a problem. I have a 99 440ex, I have been having problems with it starting. The starter works and the motor is fine. I took the case cover off and checked all the gears and flywheel. I see no wear or missing teeth. It will kick over sometimes then clunk, and the starter will freewheel. I am torn between it being the starter spring being too week, or the one way starter clutch behind the flywheel. Any info or thoughts are thankful!

 

I did some searching, looks like some others have had this problem. Im leaning tward the clutch, Im not sure im needing to buy another flywheel. Maybe just the clutch will do it. It be better If you could get just the spring!
