How good is the reliability of the IMS 440 kit? What pipe is the best for the 440 kit? Yoshimura or DMC? Which is the loudest? Has anyone tried the Eldebrock carb? What is the best 440 kit? Where can I get my rockers hard faced out?

I really dont know much about the IMS kit. I am very happy with the 440 kit I got from GT Thunder. I got there custom exhaust and I am very happy with it. They dynoed there exhaust against my Big Gun and there made about four more horses. Check out there website or give them a call you wont regret it. It is in Millersburg Ohio. I dont know how close that is to you. It is worth the trip!

Did you install this kit or did you have GT Thunder install it for you? A buddy of mine has a 400ex that wants to upgrade to a 440. Just tring to find out if this is a job for a old 2 stroker shade tree mech. Thanks for your input. Since your from the area where I'm from, do you guys ride up at Long Lake or over at Haspin?

What is your horsepower now? And how much did it cost including everything (parts, labor, taxes etc)

GT Thunder installed the kit. I highly recommend having them do the work. The labor is not that expensive. I also suggest having them re-jet your carb and tune the system after the install to have it run at its full potential. My bike dynoed at exactly 40hp after it was all done. I will be going back for a Keihin 41mm FCR carb here real soon. Lazarus (GT Thunder owner and general quad guru) said that the carb will be worth another 3 or 4 horse. The whole 440 kit with his custom pipe was $1300 for everything. I cant imagine taking my quad any place else. I am that happy with GTT. As far as where I ride I mostly ride in
WV. I have never heard of those riding areas but I am always looking for a hot riding spot. It is hard to beat WV for the amount of land that is open to ride on.

I HAVE A IMS 440 WITH 39MM CARB, NO COMPLAINTS YET. THE KIT PRODUCES SOME PRETTY MAJOR H.P. IT MAKES YOUR 4-STROKE PULL LIKE A 2-STROKE. THE GUY WHO DID MINE CALLED IT A "BANSHEE KILLER". I WAS THE FIRST BIKE HE DID AND IT TURNED OUT BEYOND HIS EXPECTATIONS.IF YOU GET A 440 KIT, GET THE CAM,REV KIT,AND MOST IMPORTANT THE TITANIUM VALVE KIT. I ALSO RAN A CLAMP ON WHITE BROS EXHUAST WITH 18 DISCS. IT WAS SWEET. NOW I HAVE A FULL CURTIS SPARKS RACE SYSTEM BUT HAVEN'T RIDING IT OUT IN THE OPEN.(JUST DOWN THE STREET)
