400ex too hot
I was think about moving my oil cooler on my 400ex. I'd like to put it up front, so much air as possible can get to it.
I was thinking about putting it in front of the streering stem with a peice of metal screen around it to keep debris off it.
Will it affect the oil pressure it in the motor when idiling by making the lines longer and moving it forward.
Any suggestions are welcome
Thanks everybody
I seen a oil cooler on ebay. Here's the link

It says it's an atv cooler for honda yamaha etc. Would this work?

your playin with fire i say. don't think the whole extending the lines and moving the cooler forward would make a diffrence besides using a lil more oil, but why? honda put it there and there are tons of 400's out there and has had no problems with the placement of the oil cooler. i've ridden mine in 90+ weather, tight trails to open sand dunes and never had a prob with it overheating. as long as there is air flow to oil cooler and finsyou will never have a problem. as for as this aftermarket oil cooler, i coudlnt pull it up but i woudl say no, your messing with diffrent I.D. holes which will restrick or oppen oil movement, and with that your just playing with disastor. mabe some one else on here woudl be able to give you info on remounting the oil cooler. my 2 cents. skip that idea
