250r parts interchangable with 400ex

I doubt the swingarm would fit, the thumb throttle is different! A 4-stroke throttle has to open a valve while a 2-stroke throttle has to raise a slide. The A-arms should fit and might give you a little more ground clearance.

Actually, the 400EX throttle will work, with a little modification. The 400EX throttle is the same as the 250X/300EX throttle and uses a straight arm rather than the cam that the 250R throttle uses. I switched to a 250X throttle for my 250R and throttle pull is much easier. The problem is getting enough throw to open the carb all the way. A little grinding is required on the inside of the EX throttle to get full throttle on an R. I also machined my own extension piece where the cable threads into the housing, to essentially lengthen the housing. It takes a little work, but it's worth it for throttle pull.

You can put a 250r swingarm on a 400ex, but you must have everything. We just did thing on a friend's 400. He took the whole rear end from his 250r. He did use the 400 rear shock. The quad rides very good and jumps and lands with no problems.
