WHICH HONDA
Currently own a 450 ES which I have used extensively on the farm since brand new in 1999
Have had no real trouble has given good service, rounding up,chasing, trekking, hauling, towing, speeding the lot.
Thinking of replacing it and would like advice on whether I should buy a new TRX 500 or a TRX 680
The machine will be used primarily on the farm as a work horse

I think for a work quad you are going to want to stick with a solid axle machine, which the Rincon isn't. Plus the Rincon's automatic transmission doesn't have a reputation for having much low end grunt. Even Honda calls it an "SUV", so I don't even think they are trying to market it a "work" quad.
The Rubicon automatic is also a "TRX 500", so it isn't really clear whether you are considering it as well????
You have had great luck with the previous Foreman that has a nice simple manual transmission, so why mess with perfection??? I say stick with the Foreman 500!

The only competition for the Foreman 500 FM would be the new Rancher 420 EFI FM. I think that last year when the Ranchers were 326cc +/- then the actual 475cc Foreman was substantially more powerfull and a better pure work ute. Now with the greatly improved Rancher 420 the choice is much tougher. So for the light end of duties the Rancher would excel while at the heavier tow/haul end the Foreman would excel. But either one could easily do it all.
