Personally, I don't like the look of the new Ranchers. I hate that Honda did away with the black fenders and went with the solid one-piece mold. It almost makes it look like a polaris or yamaha. The increased power is nice, but why change such a popular bodystyle? The closest it comes to looking like a Honda is with the decals. Very dissapointed. Just my daily vent, tell me what you think.

 

i think everything about them is better. more cc's, better ride, better brakes,2x4 selecter,. you name it ands it probly better on the 420[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Not really talking about performance, just the new look. I agree that they've made huge improvements, just don't care for the body style. That's really what I was getting at if you couldn't tell from my original post.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Thought the same thing too......it looks to much like the very ugly Eiger. Now that I have one, I don't really care anymore.....it kind of grows on you. It's one superb little machine!

Haven't looked at a Recon lately, but doesn't the Recon now look very similar????

 

Well, it kind of looks like the past Recons, without the black fenders.

 

When I first saw the pictures I thought the same thing, but I think I was just a bit jealous because I had just bought a 350. Now that I have my 420, I almost feel like the 350 is the ugly duckling of the two. I have really grown to love all the cosmetic changes on the 420, and once someone releases a bigger aftermarket grill for it, it will be better looking all the way around. Check out my gallery for some side by side comparison shots. I love everything about the 420, people just need to let it grow on them. Dont fear change.

Besides the Rancher, the Recon doesn't have the black plastic pegged on fenders anymore. I haven't really paid any attention to the Recon in quite a few years, but I saw one in the back of a truck the other day and from a distance mistook it for a 420. I'm betting the chances of the whole lineup getting redesigned in the next few years is pretty high?????

And, what's this single tail light thing all about?????

 

well it has a solid axle and no ground clearance. most 250's have more that are'nt named honda
