I just got my 440 out of the shop yesterday and noticed slight puffs of black smoke when I blurp the throttle. I'm running 162 Keihin main, 45 pilot, air box lid on, stock air filter, and snorkle removed. The compression ratio is 12:1 and I'm running Klotz 113 octane. I did have a xr250 cdi box but took it off because it was harder to start when cold. I also have a WBR4 slip on (stock head pipe), XR400 cam, and a port job. I know its running rich. How did you, 440 guys and girls, set your jetting, air mixture screw, and air box mods at 700'. Please keep in mind that I'm using Keihin jets not DynoJets. Any starting point help would be greatly appreciated.
