sorry all of those you mentioned happen to be the loudest you can buy,haha....i would look at the fmf's pro circuits and white bros, where you can have the headers if wanted, plus the option of spark arrestor and quiet core...plus the white bros which i have beat allot of those pipes on dyno and testing....however, ive heard the dmc is the best for a built motor but quite loud....

The best pipe for any built 400 is the DMC, but it is loud. I was going to buy the DMC, but I have been thinking that $500 is a lot of money for only 3 horsepower more than my Big Gun. So I have been calling engine builders and asking around on what to do and I finally figured it out. Most of the people I talked to said that the stock header flows fine but you need to grind the welds on the inside of the header down. So that's what I am going to do, grind my header and get a pro cicuit silencer. I asked one builder how much horsepower would the DMC have over me with that set-up he said maybe 1.5 horses, and he stressed the maybe. If you look in the latest ATV SPORT they did an article on a 440EX built by Thumper Racing, he has the stock 400EX headers, and he came in third in the pro 4 stroke, it doesn't seem that he is having flow probs with the stock headers.

The Big Gun exhaust system is a great exhaust for a stock 400EX. If you plan on building your motor then the Big Gun turns into a big flow restrictor. I liked the pipe when my bike was stock, I just don't like it now. The stock 400EX headers flow better than the big gun on a built engine, so I am going back to the stock ones.

SG1221, I sparks site is www.sparksracing.com and I'm not sure if you will be able to see the pipe or not?? To give another pipe that is excellent is the LRD!! I personally have one on my 400 and looks and sounds and performs GREAT!! I've just heard alot of good stuff about Sparks and would take a peek at it!! But from what I know and to compare it to a FMF powercore4?? NO comparison with the LRD!! The LRD out performs the FMF!! But, to tell you whats the best for a 440?? couldn't really tell ya!!! Good luck and tell us what you chose. Later
