I've been offered a 2000 400ex with 10 hours on it for $4800. Its been piped, jetted, K&N filter and some engine mods done. The owner says he spent over $1700 on all the mods. He wants a rapter bad.
This sounds like a good deal to me. Should I buy it.

sounds like a great deal, but you have to look at it first to see if its jacked up, and make sure you don't want a new yellow one. I got the 01 yellow one for 6000 out the door(i checked around and thats a deal here in corona,CA). But now i want all the cool asessorys and can't afford them for awhile, so its a major plus that that one has them. It has plenty of power stock but i say you can never have to much power.

 

i could have bought a very slighty used 2001 (yellow) for 4800$. just to give an idea!!

Hey I bought my 400ex used but it had about 50 hours on it, not 10. I also received full gear and a 500 dollar trailer. However I bet our mods are similar. I have bought nothing for it except 2 new sets of tires. I bought mine for $4800 so I would say it is a good deal, but you might look around also, Im sure there are better ones.

 

I bought mine brand new last year for $5,300 otd. Look around. When do you want it by, b/ if you wait for the 2002 models to come out you can get a 2001 cheap.
Have you seen the yellow EX in person. I think they look good on the net and everything but in person they are butt ugly (MY OPINION, SO DONT GET ALL MAD). They are like a creamy yellow.

 

Its not yellow its red. I've seen it and its clean, I even rode it and it feels brand new. This guy has a DS650 he also wants to sell, I don't know what he wants for it though. I'm not interested in the 650 But I do like the 400. Like
I said he wants to get a raptor.

 

they are a little too dull. the sticker color is wrong too. (doesnt match the plastic) i would get the red and buy some mier's in whatever color you want! it actually is a better deal than geting a new yellow one sometimes!
p.s. stairway to heaven is a freaking long song!! i've been listening to it for like the last 8 min.

 

Offer him $4300.00 & get a super deal ..see how bad he wants to sell it.

 

my red 400ex costed 5 grand and the guy who bought it before me got it for his kids and he returned it because he thought his kids were gonna kill them selves on it cause of its speed and power. if i were you i would test it out and if you like it buy it fast ive never heard of a deal like that.

 

I would offer him 4500!! You can get a brand new one for 5800 out the door(in NY anyway)!! If its in as good as shape you say it is then I would say 4500!
