HELP!!! Ite I know this is a very noob question but I really need you guys help. I have lost the manual and I do not know how to change the oil and the filter. We also need to know what brand of oil goes in it. Thanks. (Once again this is a 2003 Honda Rancher 350.)

 

Pull the drain plug in the bottom, and let it drain... on the right side of the engine down low is one bolt that's your oil filter. The manual would probably tell you to use Honda's GN4 SAE10W-40SJ I use Mobile one Sythetic in mine. I am sure you can finger it out [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

Pick a motorcycle specific oil that is API SG/JASO MA, and you won't go far wrong. Beyond that, the synthetics have lots of advantages over plain old petroleum oil, and the ester synthetics have advantages over the other two types of synthetics. http://www.maximausa.com/technical/l...beNews2002.pdf

The oil filter is on the right side, just next to the dip stick. It has three bolts that hold the cover on. You pop the cover off and the filter is underneath. BE SURE YOU INSTALL THE FILTER IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! Stock filters are clearly maked as to direction...but aftermarket filters may not be. The rubber washer on the filter fits over the nipple on the inside of the cover, and the spring at the back holds tension so it stays sealed.
