i attempted to set the valves on my 03 honda after a rebuild and i just kinda guessed on top end whats the proper way to do it . when i set them they were quite and now are noisy again . How do i get it to top dead centre? is there a timing mark somewhere. I just assumed that both valves had to closed to set them the gap is supposed to be .006 is that correct too? any help would be great being the atv is apart now and i wanna get out riding again

im not driving a polaris that breaks down every time i drive it its got 12000 km and 600 hrs on it and is the 2nd time ive had the engine open to put rings in it and other than that brakes are the only other thing and ive been around atvs and sleds and tools long enough i no the basics of whats goes on in them
