i have a trx 300 '94 2wheel dr

when i try to use my electric start it is like the battery is dead i have charged it. i put a battery jump box on it and it cranked up but i had to push the button just right.

i can drive it for hours and i still have to kick start it.

could it be my starter or solenoid?

the battery was put on new and has done it since. a few years ago i cranked and cranked it in the snow till the old battery died could i have messed something up?

it sounds like you ran the starter out and it needs to be replaced, but if its clicking when u try to start it then it could be that the solenoid is corroded or the red wire to the solenoid is fried, to be safe you should fix both and if that doesnt work take it to a shop

Sorry to bump, but I'm having a similar problem, only it has only started happening after it sat unused for a few months. I've charged it numerous times and it won't keep the charge long, and after riding for around an hour, it only has enough juice for a couple of starts, after that it'll click and such. Thanks!
