Im getting a buddy over who is gonna show me how to set the valves on my 450r. But i know with a dirt bike you usually have to change the shims. Most poeple would buy a shim kit with all diff. sizes. Should i be doing this for the 450r??

 

You also will need to reshim as long as the valves are out of spec, but otherwise you won't even have to adjust them if they are within the specs from Honda...You can buy a kit or when you measure the sizes and figure out what size shims you need you can pick them up from the Honda dealer.
