i was reading a post about a 03 rancher with no reverse and the problem was a wire on the back of the motor with a 90deg. boot is a 2001 foreman es the same? and if so is it the wire by the speed sensor any help is much appreciated thanks

 

the wiring is probably not EXACTLY the same, but they have the same sensors and circuitry, just a different size engine, i would definitely check that reverse actuator switch thingy, find where that cable goes to from the left brake lever, maybe the wire just fell of or something.
