mudflap-ectomy
#1
I noted with my Foreman that often when crawling over a boulder or log it would pop the plastic push pins on the front edge of the floorboard... Do that enough and they end up kind of loose, even with new push pins.
Recently I saw a thead on another forum about that. The black plastic part of the lower front fenders extends down past the floorboard on a bunch of Honda utilities, to hang down like 4" below the frame and floorboards. It's apparently supposed to act like a mudflap, but on models with floorboards I don't think it reallly does much other than getting smacked by obstacles and trying to rip the back of the fender off the floorboard.
Anyhow, a couple minutes and a bit of wear and tear on a utility knife and I trimmed those things to just below the bottom of the floorboards, and I think it is a really nice improvement. Those pop pins don't get ripped out, and I don't think it made any difference in mud protection.
Best free modification I've made to my quads (did both of them).
