Honda is loosing.

I hooked mine up to a Dodge 3500 and a 11,000 lb 5th wheel to pull it out of the mud. Granted the mud was only an inch deep. The Dodge just could not get enough traction. The Foreman dug down about 6 inches and then moved forward.

Not saying it didnt happen, but that is amazing. I cant see ANY atv being heavy enough to pull a 1 ton truck, and an 11,000 lb trailer in mud. Actually, isnt it almost not possible for an ATV, or anything for that matter, to pull more than its own weight in slippery conditions?

I wasn't there but even ForemanDans dad says the same thing. The truck wasn't bogged down but just couldn't get enough traction to pull itself out. It probably just needed a shove to get rolling.
But either way I never heard of or seen a Foreman not move unless it was spinning. If it wouldn't pull the clutch was bad.

He could make it move a little but then it would stop. The Foreman made the difference. I really wish I had it on video. I am sure Honda would have loved to see it.
Also, he was in the mud but I was not.

v1rider,
Have you ever been on a quad in a slippery situation? And, if so, were you able to move? If so, then you proved that a quad can move more than it's own weight in a slippery situation.
By the way, I'm with Honda...mud. I bought a 1979 ATC185 and raced it last year at Glen Helen. I got blown away the entire race. I lost track of how many times I was lapped.
Being a faithful Honda owner my entire life, I decided to give them another shot. I bought a Recon and went to Glamis. The stupid machine had me eating sand the whole weekend. What a piece of junk! It wouldn't even climb Oldsmobile Hill!
Yep, Honda makes the worst ATV's in the history of the world.
I'm going to buy Bultaco Motorcycles from now on.

With me on top of the quad, it is now 180lbs heavier, so i am included in its own weight. Its different when towing a weight vs loading the weight on the quad. That didnt prove anything

A Recon at Glamis??? Sorry, it's not the stupid machine....it's you! Somehow this is Honda's falult??? Again...someone who cose the wrong tool for the job!
The Recon is a trail utility quad. About as far from being a duner as one can get. Still, if you air the tires down, a skilled rider can have fun on it in the little dunes......

sarcasm isnt the easiest thing to detect on a computer
and yes the foreman wouldnt even move. we had a 600-700lb moose hooked to the ball hitch, on a bit of an incline and had 2 guys on the bike. the front tires would spin but the back wouldnt, we got another guy on the front rack and moved maybe an inch then just sat and didnt move. Hook up the kingquad, slip her in super low gear and a guy on each rack and it moved, not one slip....just tugged along.
i imagine the rincon is a bit more powerful, i'd like to test it against a 650 outlander and see how it preforms, my guess is it would get STOMPED, in every which way possible.

So, when I wrote that I took a 1979 ATC185 to race at Glen Helen, no one here understood what I meant? Does anyone here even know what an ATC 185 is/was?
If so, do you think I'd even be allowed on the track at Glen Helen?
