Just received my Honda recall notices today. I had my quad for about 13 months and have heard about the recall for the front a-arms brackets not long after I bought the quad. I knew where the problem was an kept an eye on it for cracks or distorted mounts. I have 1800 miles on it now and have never had a problem. The other recall is on the shifter plate, recall notice says shifting under heavy loads could cause the plate to distort.I have only read a few posts about the shifter plate but have heard of many topics on the a-arm brackets. Just wondered how many people have had a problem with the shifter plate. Apparently if this plate distorts the quad will not be able to shift up or down, with or without the back up shifter on the es.

Tell me more about this shift plate recall, I haven't heard of it and I couldn't find it listed on honda's website. The a-arm recall is there. When did the shift plate recall come out and has anyone had theirs fixed yet?

bought a 350 4X4es in october and have just received recall notices for the A-arms and the shifter plate. live in Ontario, Canada. my machine was not among the numbers listed for recall for A-arms on the lists posted on this forum. wondered if there is a separate list of serial numbers for canadian machines? also curious about the shift plate problem. doesn't seem to be much info posted here yet.

I too live in NS and just received the recall and update notice. They are both dated December 2000. The first was the "Important Safety Recall Notice" for the upper A-arm mounting bracket. The second was "Re: Product update Campaign" to replace the gearshift plate in all 2000 TRX350FE/FM/TE/TMs and specific 2001 TRX350FE/FM/TE/TMs. It also says the product update expires 11/15/2005.

The recall and product update came on Honda Canada Inc. letterhead. The product update may be a Canadian thing.

I called today and my dealer has not received the required parts to perform the recall and update.

I also recieved my recall notices on my '00 rancher ES and yes I'm also from N.S.Does anyone know what's involved in repairing these items. My dealer is 2 hrs. away in Antigonish and I was wondering if it was a quick day fix or will it mean loosing one of my quads for any long period of time.
P.S. What's a gearshift plate anyway?Do they have to take apart the engine to fix it?

I notice that everyone with this recall is from Canada. Is this something particular with the Canadian models? Has anyong from the U.S. heard anything?
