Jumpin Tips
#1
I'm thinking about getting a banshee or a 250R and i need to know which one is better jumping for me. I know the R is a better jumper, but i'm used to jumping my 4x4 and pulling back, so woudl the banshee be better for me? Cause i heard the banshee is nose heavy, would it effect me? I'm not going to be hittin huge jumps. Maybe a jump that will give me five to seven feet of air, and i could hit it in first, second, or third occasionally dependin on if i was brave enough. Please help me.

Either one would be fine, you will eventually adapt to the one you choose. And how do you expect to get 5-7 feet of air in first or second gear? the ramp must be straight up if you expect to do that. Better hit it in like fourth or fifth.

The R is the better jumper and is easier to handle in the air. Start small and work your way up. Always wear a helmet(duh) and a chest protecter ( broken ribs happen quick on a nose first landing) Havn't broken any yet but have had some nasty bruises and strains.

I recently switched from a Banshee to a 250R in New England MX series.
While I have jumped fairly big on the Banshee, I found that I had a limit, especially in the races. On a practice track where I only have to worry about that one jump, the Banshee is fine. But on the track, you need to make sure you set up properly. The Banshee can be corrected in the air, but it takes a lot more effort and skill.
But the 250R just flies nice. The jumps that I used to worry about on the Banshee, were quickly brought into my comfort zone. The main reason is the weight balance, but the overall package makes the 250R consistant. That I like.
For playing around, the Banshee is fine for jumping. But on the track, it is a little more difficult.
