Thinking of lifting a 2006 Rubicon
#1
Ok, I know this has been beaten to death, but I cant get it out of my head. I have a 2006 Rubicon with 26" Mud Lites. I would love to put a 2" lift kit on it. I know that the handling will go away but I really like the challenge of going through mud.
I have heard that when lifting any ATV, it positions the shafts at a different angle therefore making them wear out at a faster pace. If this is true then I am thinking it is not going to be worth the trouble.
I will comment on this...by putting those Mud Lite tires and rims on my ATV, I have lost a ton of speed, both take off and top end. It is hard to believe that they would make that much of a difference.
Any help on the subject of lifting my Rube will be greatly appreciated.

The changing of pinion angle is true on lifting any type of atv or truck that is shaft driven .. It will wear out ujoints faster than normal and also has a higher breaking possibility due to the angle ...On a truck you can re-shim to make it the correct angle , but not shure about an atv
