on my 300ex i can pop a wheelie easy in 5th gear....my 300ex also keeps up with most 400ex tht have aftermarket parts on them....ive never raced a stock 400ex but if i did i would beat it....my 300ex feels like it has more tourqe.....it also feels like it has more power......i rode some 400ex and all they do is spin....

 

yeaa they spin prolly cause they have stock tires in terrain that gets no traction. but mine stands up with ease in 3rd. in 1st and 2nd i dont even usually have to play with the clutch i can just gun it and pull up a little and it stands right up.

All you have is a pipe on your 300ex? If so there would be no beating a stock 400ex with it unless you raced a pre 05 in reverse lol. But anyways a 400ex is in a whole different class then a 300ex is. 300ex's feel really small to me compared to a 400 and I'm only 5'8". Both wheelie just fine but I would say go with the 400ex.

 

I own a 400ex and love it, I rode my friends 300ex and to me it just seemed smaller and a lot less powerfull. Since then he has did some mods to his and it was just as fast as my 400 except when I hit 4th gear. Then I would pull from him. Now I have mine mod and there is no comparison.
