Lose those lame stock tires! I highly recommend the new ITP TracStar radials. If you go with 22" front and 20" rear, you will lose a little ground clearance in back, but it will be a little more stable and corner better....and the radials really improve handling. You will also lower your effective gearing slightly (more low end torque). If you can afford new rims as well, get some ITP rims that are wider and have a greater offset than stock, and you will end up with a very stable machine......
There is a fair amount of hop up potential in this engine! First, lose the wimpy stock header, it is pathetic! I put on an FMF PowerCore 4 muffler and it came with a header (no extra charge!). And an EHS Racing airbox lid with Outerwears cover, and a UNI air filter (I don't trust K&N). And of course a rejet....
It is often hard to know what someone means by "faster". To me, faster means top end speed. But, then you say "hook it up", which kind of implies you want some acceleration...which to me implies low end torque. Which are you really looking for???? Usually it isn't possible to tune for both. Personally, I will give up top speed for a torquey bottom end any time...and this is a trail quad after all!
Once you have done the above mods, you can fine tune it with gearing changes.
I like DG for nerfs, skid plates, and bumpers.
