I recently purchased what is supposed to be a '91 TRX300FW, based on the VIN. The top end of the motor is very clean while the bottom end looks original. There are fairly new gaskets all the way around so i'm sure it has been apart some what recently. The numbers on the bottom end match the bike as a 300 based on the prefix (TE15E) but the jug is very clearly stamped with 421cm3. Does anyone know of a company that makes a 421 kit for this 300? It seems to run ok but does have a little noise, possibly the timing chain and/or tensioner. The timing cover has a new gasket on it, not sure what the deal is with the chain but the tensioer seems to be original. These are strictly external observations[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img], I have yet to tear it apart. If anyone knows where I can find information about this 300cc-421cc kit I would love to know, I just need to find out what I have and what parts I can use in it? Thanks.
