Default 250r break-in jetting

Alright so im getting ready to fire my 85 250r after a top end rebuild. Mods are pretty mild right now, pro circuit pipe, uni filter, no air box lid, wiseco pro-lite piston. I dont want to fire it with the stock jetting, anyone out there have any suggestions on how fat of jetting to run for break in?? After the break in I am gonna have the head shaved and then I can do the plug chops for fine tuning. Thanks for any input.

Was this thing jetted corectly before the rebuild? If so just run the jets you have in it.

No. The guy that I bought it from had it jetted way lean which is why I had to do the rebuild. I got ahold of pro circuit though and they told me to run a 155 main, 55 pilot, 3rd clip on the needle and 1 1/2 turns out on the air fuel screw and that should put me in the ball park for break in.

That sounds like good advice to me. I would take it. Start there and see how it feels. Read the plug and go to where it tells you to go.
PS. Have fun on your new ride. It's a legend, and rightly so.

That jetting, depending on elevation, may be a little rich. At 1700ft, my elevation, and that setup I would run about a 145-150 main and a 48 pilot. As for break in. Do at least 3 heat cycles before getting on the machine. Your motor will love you for it.

Yeah, im quite a bit lower than 1700 ft. I planned on doing 4 or 5 heat cycles on this thing before blipping the throttle at all. Should be back together and fired tonight as long as my gasket set came in the mail today like it was suppose to.
