It's probably the axle splines stripped .... I would raise the rear wheels off the ground , remove the filler cap on the raer differential .. Turn the rear wheels while watching the ring gear , if the ring gear DOESN'T turn then the axle and possible the ring gear spline are stripped ..If the ring gear DOES turn then the trouble is in the driveshaft/universal ..

there has been a lot on this latley you say that sucks. but ill check it out any idea at all how much the parts can run on avarage if its the spline or the other . and is it a big job to fix.
thanks for the reply,s also.

What someone suggested is that the splines are suceptible to rust. They corrode, and then that makes them strip easily. I am imagining that this is going to be a problem for those who are in the mud/water more than us desert riders (???). You wallow in the mud a lot???
The easy fix might be to just grease the splines up frequently as part of routine maintenance (???).

yes i do i keep the bike at my camp so i dont drive it a lot but when i do i drive it hard in the deep water and mud, there is a lot of quartz rock around o its hard grit.

What the guys said above, if the rear left wheel outer seal goes, it lets water in which will rust the splines of the drive shaft going through the differential. If your lucky you can get away with a new shaft, but if the splines on the diff are too bad that peice will have to be replaced too.
If you lost the shaft (like I did) you would most likely know it as it makes quite a racket as everything jams up and chews up in the tube. Just cost me ~$800 to fix with the most expensive parts being replaced used. I lost a tab on the coupler for the rear u-joint, when it came apart it jammed up in teh tube, which bent the output shaft of the motor, and cracked the rear engine case.
