my 2001 foreman es 4 wd is not working any ideas ??

Can you be more specific about the nature of the problem? Did it work before, then quit? Did you buy it used and it's never worked? There are a lot of people on this forum who could help if you provide more information.

Need lots more specific info. Is the front slipping? Is the back slipping (a surprisingly frequent problem with this model!)? Do the drive shafts turn??? Etc., etc....

yes it did work before did a rear brake service on it put it all back together took it for a ride and the front wheels are the only thing that work jacked it up all wheels turn at this point grab rear wheel front keeps turning but back stop pinion gear in rear end spins but no 4 wd

yes it worked before it was after a rear brake service problem occured jack it up all wheels turn rear hardley grab them and they stop pinion gear is turning in rear end but no 4 wd under load thanks ron

You have probably stripped the splines on the rear drive shaft. There have been a few posts on this lately. Appearently it gets no lube and the splines rust then strip easily. I will try to find a post for you with more information....

It sounds like either a part was left out or put back on incorrectly when you did the rear brake service, though I don't know how a rear brake service could disable the rear wheel drive.

There are some certified Honda mechanics on this forum who should have a better idea of what the problem could be, so hang in there and hopefully more specific help will be forthcoming.
