Hey guys, what's up? I'm new to this board and have a question for everyone. I just got my 300EX a couple of months ago and I love it. The power, handling and ride are great. Last weekend I traveledd to Park Falls WI to spend a weekend trail riding with my friends and family. While on the trail the engine keep cutting out and killing everytime I hit a waterhole. I wasen't driving through deep water. Only 2 or 3 inches. I opened my airbox and discovered water in the airbox. So I drained it and the problem would go away. Until the next puddle. When more water would get in there.
What's the problem? Can I not drive in water? Or is it something else.
Thanks for any info.

If you are getting water in your airbox after going through 2 or 3 inches of water something is not right. Make sure the shields over the air intake is properly in place. I can go through 1 to 2 feet of water and only have traces of water in my airbox. However, if it wants to die when you go through water, you might want to look at your spark plug boot. They are well known for moisture getting in there and killing the spark. The wire and the coil are one unit but, the boot will pull of the wire. Do so then apply some electrical grease inside the connection and inside the boot. Twist the boot back on the wire as if you were screwing it on. Thats what my money would be on. Goodluck. Well I dont know much about how the airbox is plumbed on a 300, check to make sure your air snorkel hasn,t come loose from the airbox or carb. recons that are jumped alot seem to suffer from this problem, saw one weekend before last injest alot of water due to this problem!!!
