I put on an FMF Power Core IV-2 S/A, and really like it! There was a increase in power throughout the range. It came with a header which has a larger diameter, is a few inches longer, and is straighter than stock. The only downside is the pipe sticks out past the grab bar in the rear, so you can't stand the bike up. I don't want to shorten the header pipe, because it is tuned to that length. I need to look for an extended grab bar though, because the pipe will really take a beating in a crash.

did your exhaust come with the head pipe or did you pay extra for it? I was looking at this system but it seemed only to be a slip on??

brokenmetl-This is a puzzler because the FMF catalog doesn't mention a header for the 300. I ordered it expecting to get a slip-on, but bingo when I opened the package there was a header with it (price was the same!). If you look at the Power Core muffler, there is no way it will slip on the stock pipe. The stock muffler has an extreme bend in it at the engine end, but the FMF is straight. I think FMF throws the header in, otherwise the header and muffler wouldn't match up. The muffler is probably generic, and rather than make a special muffler for the 300, it's easier to give you a header to make it fit. Anyway, I'm way ahead, because that stock header was WIMPY!

I run a cheap little DG aluminum exhaust on my 300EX stroker and have no problems what so ever. The only difference is that the DG is very loud, definitley over 110dbs with my stroker kit. If dbs are not an issue I would save money and buy a DG. Just remember if you plan to race your quad, some organizations will not let you if your pipe is too loud. I raced motocross, desert and arenacross with my little stroker. In the arena you cannot hear anyone elses quad but mine. Kinda funny but it's true. Hope this helps you out.
