Well....for my first post, I thought i'd ask a really stupid question. How hard would it be to turn my 06 2 wheel drive rancher into 4 wheel drive. I figured i'd ask some other Honda people on their input......

I appreciate the welcome. With the prices on the new 420, and the re-sale on the 350, its gotta be cheaper than $2500.00 to do. My wife is wanting an automatic 4wheeler. Thats the next thing on the list. It was just an idea i was kicking around.

You would be better off trading.
There would be so many parts needed.
You could look at a parts finder to compare the 2WD to the 4WD and the cost will amaze you.

I figured the way that Honda like to do interchangeable things that it might work. I dunno. The whole thing that started this was the fact that the front engine cover has a spot on it where it looks like it could be machined to accept the driveshaft and seal. I'm gonna research some more and keep you guys posted.

Price depends on where you look. I dont know what area you live in but Southern Honda has the ES 420 Rancher 4X4 for $4683. That is the out the door price unless you live there and have to pay taxes on it.

07 420 4X4 manual everything, no digital readout is $5400.00 out the door. Thats the cash price. Thats at Ward's Yamaha in troy, 50 miles north of me. I've heard Tennessee is the place to go.
