Default 250x sales guide

ok i am new to your site, thanks for having me everyone. i am curious to see what you all think i can get out of my quad. i have an 87 250X fourtrax and it is im good condition. how much should i ask for it... i have heard that maybe my locals wont kno what this bike really is. i mean it isnt jus a run of the mill kind of bike.... right? its not that i think its worht 5 grand, but i kno that this bike could go for more on ebay or some other alternative method. like i said its in good condition and needs a few minor things done, but other than that it is all original, and runs great. plus, i love it.... and i dont want to really get rid of it. anyways, ive said enough. let me know what you guys think, and i hope that not only honda guys will read and reply to this.... i want a broad range of opinions. THANKS!

Welcome to the forum.
Book on your quad is pretty much zilch.
If you are selling it outright, $1200 to 1500 tops is about all you could expect to get for it,..and that's fixed and running properly. Most go for the 1G range in the midsouth and east coast areas.
You have to keep in mind that the sport market has been flooded in the last 4 to 5 years concerning used sport quads and it's very common to even find clean 400EXs for $1500....sometimes less.
You sound a little "iffy" about selling it anyway. A sure sign that maybe you shouldnt be.

I recommend you keep it and let your buddies ride it. Nothing draws buddies that want to ride more than an extra machine. Once they find out you have an extra machine available, they will come out of the woodwork.

ok ok... thank alot guys. i do appreciate it. i dont weant to sell it b/c for what it is i mean u cant beat it u kno?? i mean a 20 year old quad that runs pretty dawg on good is jus hard to give up. so i recently bought a different front sprocket to give it a lil more power bottom end. i like mudding it and things like that. and since i will probably be running some more aggressive mud tires or something similar to it, i need a lil more power. then of course who doesnt! if u dont mind, what are some cheap uprgrades to build up that extra lil bit o'power...... in the 100$ range?

The usual... up the jets, good air cleaner for starters. Maybe a pipe if you can afford it and find one for your model...
