I am new to the site an new to ATV's. I just bought a 2002 400ex off my uncle for a very reasonable price. Anyway it is all stock. I would like to change the exhaust to get a better sound. Don't really need performance out of it just a different sound. I will just buy a slip-on. With that being said I was wondering what everyone was running on their quad. I would like to get a deeper tone, nothing to loud, just a nice deep mellow tone. I have tried to search on here for sound clips but haven't found to many. Also tried youtube and not alot there either. If you could please post up your sound clips on here or email them to me if you want. Please state the type of exhaust and any other mods that you have done. Thanks, Tony.

My FMF powercore4 is deeper toned an sounds great and HMF slip-on had deeper tone an sounds good also.

 

i have a 01 400ex w/ a 440 kit stage 2 cam i use a white brothers e exhaust you can tune the pipe by useing or removeing disks for tone and power i like them a lot i use 8 disk for now look in to it ? or a dmc pipe is good to use look them up

 

go with a full yoshimura exhaust system.. if you are gonna spend the money just go with a full not a slip on they sound great and is a good preformance booster too... my buddy has the same thing. it had a slip on when he got it and he switched to a full pipe and it sound 100% better

 

Be sure to uprgrade jets, blew mine up due to that

 

iam useing a 165 main jet what size does your freind have ? thank you for the pipe that is going to help me out a lot
