The 250X is an old kick start machine that has not been made for many years. It got bored out and got electric start, and became the 300EX.
But, I am betting you actually mean the 250EX.
"Better" means different things to different people!!! Between the 250EX and the Raptor 250, I would say the Raptor is more sporty, has better suspension, is faster....and way lighter. The one place the 250EX will excell, is in technical trail riding and water/mud seeing it has shaft drive and pretty descent ground clearance for a sport quad (the EX is based on the Recon utility quad).

id get the raptor 250. it going to spark a whole new generation of the 250cc competiton class. i have a feeling the aftermarket is about to go nuts for it.
as for as the Honda 250X - that was a great handling bike and much peppier than the 300 that replaced it. i still like it better, but would not pass up either for a good price. you'd think that a bigger bore (well 246cc to 282cc), electric start would have made it better, but it seem to lose something when it became the 300ex... they did have the most retarded reverse process in the world though. they revised it recently.

being 15 i think you will get bored real fast with a 250-300cc quad. i whould take a look at a 400ex. great realiable quad. not so much power you will not beable to control it but enough to where you wont get bored.
