Honda Trx 450r
#1
Ok i just purchased a new 2007 honda trx 450r and i am just wondering how long these machines last? I have heard that if you drive them on a daily basis the engine will not last as long as you think!!!!!!!! Becouse it is a very high performance engine. I was just wondering if any of you 450r owners have a considerable amount of hours on your machine and would like to share how reliable it has been!

Do you know about things like the starting drill, breaking it in hard, frequent oil changes, and valve adjustments??? All the machines I know of, are well maintained and run high quality ester synthetic oils (RedLine or Maxima). This isn't a 400EX that you can neglect and have it still run forever.....
The 450R quad and 450X dirt bikes are the kings of desert endurance racing! You know, like Baja where you start it up and go ride 1000 miles non-stop with the throtle pinned! These engines can go the distance!

ya i think i know the maintence schedule: I am just about to bring it in for its first valve adjustment. I know to regularly change both oils and clean the air filter lube the chain and bring in for valve adjustment every 100 hours or so.
I am not sure if i will yet add the hrc kit. It seems fast enough for me. Although i might gear it down a little so that i can handle it in the woods a little better.
I just got it a month ago so i have been driving it in the snow. It can really paddle through the snow good lol. I just hope this machine will last for a long time. definatly a blast to ride!!!!!!!!!
