Back yes, bolt right on.
Fronts will need some modification.

The springs are too stiff, and the valving needs to be changed. They will work as is, but it wont be great.

Will 400ex rear shock fit on a 300ex???? Don't like the high priced shocks on the market.. Something has to fit...I don' t care if its too stiff, I can make it flex...Any ideas....thx

I have a pair of 450 shocks on my 400 and I love them. If you ride slow tight trails, then you won't like them because they are pretty stiff springs. But if you ride fast and like to jump, then these are a great buy.

I don't know, but why not pick one up off ebay and see if it fits. It may need some modifications but I bet you could make it work.
I got a 450R rear shock and put it on my 400EX and then took the 400EX shock and with some modifications, installed it on my Blaster that my daughter-in-law rides. I also put Banshee front shocks on the Blaster. It rides a lot better now.
