Default 03 honda rancher wont shift out of neutral!!!!! help

I have a 2003 honda rancher es and when I push the up button I can hear the mechanism work and can see the shift shaft move however it will not go into gear. using the included shift lever on the shift shaft gets the same result. it will move up and down (just like when using the electric shift button) but it will not go into any gear even reverse. any suggestions? where might I find the procedure for adjusting the clutch?

Is your battery totally charged? Even a low battery can give these ES's shifting problems. Try charging/replacing the battery.

es system not the issue, you have a tranny problem, if you can't get it in with the manual shifter. did you try rocking?

Default 03 honda rancher wont shift out of neutral!!!!! help

I have tried rocking back and forth while I manually shift and it still does not move. The "N" indicator flashes 8 times. Im afraid Im going to have to take the clutch cover off to do a visual inspection. can anyone point me in the direction of a pdf service manual for download on this specific honda? I have looked all over the web and cant find a thing. Thanks for all of the input, this site kicks butt!!!!!!!!!

Default rancher want shift electrically or manually

I have a 2001 rancher that want shift electricall or manually. It got stuck in 5th gear while i was riding it and was able to get back to the house and now and i can't get it out. you can here it click when you hit the button.I have rocked back in forth many ties.I pulled the electric shifter out and nothing seems to be broken. Whith the electric shift out and hitting the button it wants to coil up but should the shaft spin? I was wondering what you guys found wrong with the previous stuck in neutral problem?
