my kicker goes all the way down and spins like crazy inside the motor?


are their springs on the gear spindel that can go out and need replacing?
whould i have to crack the case to get the kicker gear and spinde out or can i get it out by removing the crank case cover and pull in out then? i pulled the case cover off and the gears look fine but i cant get it out as if its still atached further ba
