im thinking about getting a 2001 400ex and i heard that they have some deffects in the head... and i was wondering if that was true and i was also wondering if there is ne other problems with them...

 

The studs when you put in a 440 high comp. piston, that's all. Don't do that & they are totally bulletproof.

Bulletproof machine, if you don't mess with it.....

 

Just keep the motor stock, limit your mods to exhaust and intake, and regularly do valve adj and oil changes. If you are not going to be happy with the stock motors power then forget all about getting a 400EX. My stock XR400 and stock 400EX (same exact motor) are totally bulletproof.

 

the powroll mods haven't caused a problem one. just like they advertised
